I have roughly 500 WWII veterans that I have photographed and I figure why not share their WWII stories instead of just sitting on my computer. Yes, their stories have been shared in my book (THE LAST GOOD WAR: THE FACES AND VOICE OF WWII). There are also a lot WWII veterans that did not make it into my book:
Willis Loehr, Col., ret., U. S. Air Force
Col. Loehr was an Air Force pilot with 30 years of distinguished service. Among his experiences was a mid-air collision with a German plane that sheared the left wing off of his airplane.  He was forced to bail out at 300 mph with a damaged chute.
“Now the canopy opens and the seat propels you clear of the plane.  Back then you had to climb over the side.  You just hoped you wouldn’t hit the plane. I hit the tail.”
Happy VDAY! Here are my favorite shots from my "Lasting Love" Series of couples that have been married for over fifty years. I did this project last year for one of my clients: Belmont Village Senior Living. I traveled to their different communities and captured the love.

I was messing around photographing used wine corks this weekend for my wine photography website. Wine corks are somewhat mundane looking or at least I thought they would be to photograph. Viewing the stained corks on black and only showing the stained wine end is somewhat interesting looking. I think blown up big as a print would look really beautiful...

I have already shared these wine portraits on FACEBOOK. I wanted to blog them as well! Not strictly zinfandel wine makers, but they all make zinfandel in Napa and Sonoma counties.
My first commercial: filmed, edited, everything by your truly except the music by Sean Carscadden and sound engineering by Andy Saks...
