Here is a new photograph I took of a Japanese American women a few weeks ago. Snooks was sent to an interment camp at Heart Mountain in California after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. All Japanese Americans were sent to interment camps within the United States at the beginning of the war as the government feared they might be traders. Once they were released, many Japanese Americans men volunteered and became soldiers. The 442nd Regiment (consisting of Japanese Americans) was the most decorated unit for its size and length of service in the history of American warfare according to Wikipedia.
